The American University of Bahrain (AUBH) has partnered with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s International Science and Technology Initiative (MISTI) to offer cutting-edge training and workshops to students in Bahrain for four consecutive years. This collaboration, powered by Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), hosts exclusive training workshops open to all university students across Bahrain, led by a team of MIT trainers, and taking place at the University’s D-Lab, utilizing the latest tools and creative workspaces.

MISTI Accelerator – Business Startup: Transforming the Future

This workshop focused on entrepreneurial growth and innovation, guiding students through the process of establishing and managing startups from concept to implementation.

Actuated Experiences – Design & Fabrication for Interactivity

This workshop allowed participants to explore foundational technologies and fabrication techniques, including 3D modeling, rapid prototyping, and laser cutting.

Building Interactive Wearable Technology from Scratch

This workshop enabled students to build interactive technology from scratch with applications in robotics, exoskeletons, interactive fashion, and assistive technology.

Global Lab Teaching Robotics Workshop

This workshop underscored the use of cutting-edge robotic technologies to advance knowledge and upskill students with some of the necessary hands-on technical skills as well as the soft skills required in today’s fast-paced world.
